For reference, it is snowing in Northern Virginia.

If history is any indication, the first one wont stick.

Further bulletins as events warrant.

EDIT:
It just stopped.

If you want to talk about snow in VA, I think it's time just to start a new thread.

Dear Diary,

Today was a great day! I wondered and wondered if there would be any snow in Virginia today, but could not convince myself to look at weather.com. Low and behold---the answer was posted before my eyes! What a fortunate person I am.

I have a standing offer to ship all this snow we are getting to anyone who wants it. Hopefully to a state/county that can afford to plow their roads.

Its 5F right now. 5. F I V E. Do you know how cold that is? I got bored last night and decided to see how deep the snow was in the backyard. No one has walked back there all winter. I soon found out that its a layered mess of snow and ice that is well past my knee. It was probably deeper but I fell through in an off-balance sort of way and landed on my bumbum.

I am so ready for summer.

-5 here, and when it finally warms up to about 15-20, it'll start snowing again until it cools off.

Yep, people around here have the PFG (Precipitation Fear Gene) that causes them to fck everything up for the rest of us at the first hint of precipitation.

Now to sit back and watch all the silly northerners that have moved here and think they can drive here like they can where they came from when the roads and conditions are entirely different. Even my Montreal born and bred wife had to learn that the hard way.

I had the same problem when I lived in Oregon briefly.
One whole inch and people act like they never even took a driving class in their lives.
I seriously hope these accidents will be a good excuse for the cops to lock them up.

I am just enjoying it for myself. Cleared the driveway and took a walk.

This is nothing for VDOT though. They iced the roads last afternoon, I believe.

I thought they had 90% of them stationed at the Springfield interchange.

According to my cheap-ass thermometer, it is 73 degrees in the shade.
Good times.

HOWEVER, for all you folks who cant remember more than 6 months at a time, this is NOT spring.
I am absolutely positive we will get another miserable cold spell before the real spring arrives.

Enjoy it now.
It will be gone soon.

According to my thermometer, it's 68 in the shade in Arlington. Of course, everything this close to DC is a little colder and a touch more bitter :)

- = BUMPITY = -

Look at the dates before you post!

Snow predicted tomorrow, like gangbusters. Luckily I already set up my truck for snow driving, and I have plenty of warm clothes, including waterproof gloves. All I need now is a bottle of Windex. (Its good for cleaning the frost off the glass easily.)
