For Overclock P4 1600 a is it better to turn off.

I am running a P4 1600 a at 2400 MHZ is it better to keep the machine on constantly and let power management reduce setting or turn off machine. Turning off and on is not usually a good thing for CPU.

Leaving it on = being used.
Turning it off = not being used.

You figure it out what's best.

When i am away from my pc for more than 30 min I turn it off,off=0 usage.

Do what you want. If you know you are not going to use it for a while use some common sense and turn it off.

the machine in my rig has been on for 23 days, with no power reduction on. my apartment has free utilities fortunately i'm a big fan of keeping a machine on all the time, but if you are going to let it go into hibernation you might as well turn it off.
