For overall music enjoyment, do you prefer Klipsch 4.1s or Logitech Z560s?

In that price range, Klipsch are by far the best sounding speakers you can buy. I have the 2.1s for my dorm room, and the 5.1s at home, and both are unbelievable.

Not heard the z560s but the Klipsch two of my friends have sound very good. Although becareful with them. Certain models have been very flaky. One friend had three different sets of 4.1s go bad. He returned the first set and was sent a new replacement set. The bass did not work in that set. He returned it again and they sent him a new set, this time charging him $50 for it. Bass did not work in that set either. He finally gave up on it. He took the third set to a friend who does electronics repair and he managed to get the Klipsch working.

I know many of you will probably say he should not of given up on it but think about this. He had already paid shipping twice for them to be sent, very expensive for something this heavy, plus a fifty dollar service fee. Also if you search the net you will see many have had this exact same problem with Klipsch.

My other friend though who purchased the 2.1s has had no problems.

As far as logitech goes they make damn good products imo. I am not talking about sound quality though, just about how well every Logitech product I have purchased has lasted.

Edit: If it had been me above I would of chewed the reps a new one till they pre shipped me a new replacement and paid shipping both ways. But my friend is used to purchasing local so he does not have to deal with hassle of shipping and such. Probably not best idea to not stay on it but if product had not been so flaky he would not of had to deal with it in the first place. And these were all brand new products. Initially shipped from Newegg and the replacements were said to be new as well.

Klipsch - they have been in the high fidelity speaker business for over 50 years. They know good audiophile music. Too many people today think big, thumping and booming bass is cool - maybe so, but that is not how live music sounds. Good for kids and games. :)

i like the klipsch 4.1s, but thats only because i prefer less and more controlled bass. both are great though. best for the price? did you say your brother listens to music? for music, 4.1 is probably overkill, and quality might be degraded, you can look at the aego 2 or the swans diva m200 at that price range for PC, will kill either choice. also check out the cambridge soundworks PC systems, i would guess they are the best PC speakers have to offer, although i havent heard them (im into headphones). for $400 for 2.1 id guess they are quite good. just a suggestion thats all. i really like the klipsch 4.1s though, and i used to have the z560s and also thoroughly enjoyed them until i came to realization that my bass-headedness was not the way to go.

as for looks, i prefer the elegant, but conservative look of the black klipschs. sweeeeet.
