Is there some type of hardware that I can install in a 5 1/4" Bay or 3 1/2" bay that will allow me to choose which hard drive to boot from when cold booting?
I'm wanting to install Linux on it's own hard drive & keep XP on it's own...my 3rd drive is for data.
Thanx.

Ive never heard of this being done, however I see no reason why a normal boot.ini file would not do the trick 😕

Perhaps I am missing something there tho.

Powerquest's Boot Magic should do the job as well. It is included with partition magic 8, but you should be able to find a place to get it on its own as it used to be a stand alone product in the powerquest product range.

Dan 🙂

I was interested in this case as it provided the particular feature as well as others.
I just didn't know if there was a piece of hardware I could purchase to select what hard drive I wanted to boot from without having to purchase a case.
