I wandered in on my brother watching the final 15 minutes of this show, and sat down and watched it with him. For those of you unaware, the premise is that one guy chooses a girl, who chooses him or a million bucks. So anyways, the girl chooses the money. Smart move, that's what I would have done. Of course, there has to be a twist. She was given the choice: play the role of the guy in a sequel, gaining 2 million bucks if he chooses her but nothing if he chooses the money, or walking with the million she already got. She choose to play for 2 million. Her odds of getting that money have to be at best 50:50. What guy would choose a girl he's known for a few weeks over a million bucks? Yet, with compound interest, she could have invested that million and had anywhere from 10 to 20 million using compound interest, varying depending on the rate. Who would throw that money away for at best a 50:50 shot at making twice as much? I'm hoping that show was fixed, as I can't imagine someone being that stupid.
