For immediate release: Uh, the Parhelia was never intended to be a gamers card

Please disregard any previous statements concerning "gaming" performance of our Parhelia line. Matrox has designed this card from the get-go to cater to our niche market of graphics professionals. We will continue to improve our products as such to offer superior performance in Adobe's gaussian blur test and spell checking in Microsoft Word. Apparently an employee in our dept has played a cruel joke on the public by enlisting John Carmack as an imaging consultant. We apologize for any confusion his presence has made.

ROTFLMAO!!!

Matrox is simply unable to make a competitive 3D chip. They and their minions will soon fall back on the usual claims. It's the G400 all over again. Actually, it's not even that because the G400 was technically competitive for a few months even though it was only available via overpriced direct sales at the time. Sigh. They should change their name to "Too Little Too Late Corp."

Yes, I am bitter because their failed effort will not save me $1 on my next viddy card purchase. 😛

You forgot Kings of the Gaussian Blur! 😀

personally i think they should RAISE the price and call it a professional card, sure they will sell less of them, but it wont hurt the companys rep because businesses generally buy whats the most expensive or the cheapest, and i would guess from the chips transistor count and the amount of memory they cant be cheaper than a trident 1MB.
