For gaming: Logitech MX 1000?

Yeah, it is what I use personally and I play just about everything, admitedly not religiouslly, aside from WoW, but I play just about everything and it runs great. The whole don't use wireless for gaming was something that had it's time back in the late 90's but it has gone away.

yea it's a decent mouse, but what i hate about wireless mouse is that you have to charge it and some would cause lag when moved across too fast (not sure about the mx1000). I would much rather get a mx510/518 after my past experiences with a wireless mouse (again, it's not a mx1000 so i'm not really sure how much that's better)

I've had no lag w/ mine. I have had no problems with it in games or anything and you only need to charge it every 4 days or so if you use it a lot. It doesn't take very long to charge anyway so. I only have to do it once a week or so at night when I'm asleep.

MX518 has higher DPI, so I would choose that at the moment. I don't care about wireless and I'd rather not worry about my battery and wireless connection anyway.

However, Logitech will soon be coming out with both wireless and corded mice that use Agilent's next generation laser-based optical sensor and it will have up to 2000 DPI. I don't know how soon, only that the names of the new models are buried somewhere in the latest Setpoint distribution.

Wireless mice are amazing, one problem with gaming that I fell into was the battery ran out in CS and I got owned. Heh, shouldn't be a problem if you charge it frequently. 🙂

Yeah as far as battery life, when I am heavily gaming, like 3 solid days in a row it will go out on the last one, so you toss it in the charger over night and voila. *grin* But from normal occasionaly everyday use, it will last me a couple of weeks between charges.

Good mouse for gaming but if you like FPS games choose the 518 or the new G5 that has in game senstivity switching. you may not thinkg that you want this but once you paly with it for 5 mins you will never give the feature up.

As far as bat life goes, It is supprising how long it last. It does last for days at a time if not weeks if you are not gaming alot. I do find it annoying when I forget to craddle it and then want to game when the bat is almost dead but that is seldom. Just get in the habbit of craddeling it at night when you get down to 1 bar of bat life and it is fine.

the wireless connection is rock solid, No slippage or anything noticed playing BF2
