For games 3870 didn't do good, is 4850 good for those?

Hi,

I have seen 8800GT>HD3870 not much but a little.
so there was a dilema whether you want quality you get 3870 (DX10.1), if you want performance you want 8800GT.

I can't remember which games, 8800GT will blow 3870 away, does it happen to 4850 too?
Can HD4850 dominate the story?

I am just using it to boot my 1680x1050 20"LCD. may change to 24" later though.

I would say yes. Read some reviews. Great card. I recently purchased a GTX 280 and then sent it back after a week. I ordered 2 4850's to hold me over until the 4870X2 comes out and I couldn't be happier.

These cards running in crossfire are faster in every game I've tried so far than a single 280. Especially with 8x AA enabled. Great scaling so far...with beta drivers.

Get a single HD4850 hands down man.

Oh, and $370 shipped for a pair of these vs ~ $650....hmmmm.....never felt so much bang for the buck before.

4850 is an awesome choice for 1680x1050...if you really are thinking of upgrading the monitor you might want to start thinking about upgrading the video to match...a 4870 does much better @ 1920x1200
