For devices that use different WIFI security?

I am currently running a LINKSYS WRT54G with the latest Tomato firmware. http://www.linksysinfo.org/for...forumdisplay.php?f=160

I currently am running my Roku Digital Video Player and Wii through WPA2.

I got a DSi which supports WPA2. But DS games use WEP. My PSP uses WPA. However I barely use my PSP and am waiting to see what this PSP GO is gonna offer....

So what options do I have? Can I use WPA2 and WEP? If I have to use WEP. I want to secure it the best I can and turn it off when i'm not using it and limit it the best I can.

I live in the woods, so maybe I don't have allot to worry about, but better safe than sorry.

I refuse to to downgrade my whole security to WEP.

With 3rd party firmware such as DD-WRT you can run 'virtual' APs that have different security levels. I ran WEP/WPA2 for a while but I was having issues with my WEP clients so I just disabled it for now. Not sure if the problem was related to the multiple virtual APs or not, never got around to troubleshooting it.

I had it setup for exactly the same reason as you, my DS, and it worked flawlessly for about a year.

The easier route would be getting the 2nd AP setup, but if you wanna go the free route, use this tutorial to get the same exact setup working as recommended, except with only 1 router.

This tutorial requires DD-WRT, as I don't think Tomato can do multiple SSIDs with virtual APs, but maybe it can now since the last time I looked into it. This tutorial covers setting up the 2nd SSID, with the main one being able to access the internet and your local network, while the 2nd one can only access the internet.

What about the Nintendo WIFI usb stick thing?

I have an old WEP router & a CF wifi card.... However I don't want two hooked up by my computer....Unless I can have it talk to the other wireless router?

I can't seem to find any virtual AP thing in Tomato firmware....
