Ran across this so started a black history thread for stories u known to you. Just spreading the word.

This story is fascination and is being considered to be played by Zendaya. I never heard the story but if it comes to fruition, it will drive conservatives nuts. It will also bring out all the so called black conservatives getting paid to dump on anything black.

There's a small community in Southwestern Ontario near where I live that is designated a National Historic Site. On the grounds are recreations of living conditions etc... but also shackles worn by slaves who followed the Underground Railroad and includes a letter from Frederick Douglas detailing his own experiences as a slave in Maryland and a gravesite for the first inhabitants, 15 freed slaves who settled in the community.

It's a really moving place to visit and understand the history that exists in small unassuming communities.

Not totally unknown, but:

Anything regarding The Red Tails, also known as The Tuskegee Airmen. They flew from beginning to end of WWII.

So many stories of them I haven't heard.

Also CNN? did a special on the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921, of which I was only vaguely aware.

Here's some pretty unknown local history (every Northern city has a similar tale). Sugar Hill.
