Due to some unfortunate circumstances, BFG is no longer supporting their warranty programs and are not accepting RMA’s for their video cards. Fortunately, PNY has stepped up and will be working to give BFG customers the ability to exchange their video cards. Consumers can trade in any new, non-working, or refurbished video cards they currently own for a discount of up to 25% off a PNY video card of their choice.

The system will then display to the customer an option for a bonus game download:
Option 1: Just Cause® 2 or Option 2: Mafia® II

Basically send in your BFG card, get 25% off a new PNY card.

(Might belong in Hot Deals as well, but it also relates to people who need/want to RMA products).

The devil's in the details. You have to buy your card from pny.com to take advantage of the RMA coupon. I'll be a wash vs. etail hot deals at best, but a nice gesture from PNY.

Their cards are all at MSRP, so it's not like they are trying to particularly gouge people though.
$230 for a 1GB GTX460, before discount (so ~$173).
$500 (so $375) for a GTX480. Can they be had for that price even on hot deals?

The ad says "up to 25% discount," right? So if I send in my dead BFG 6800GT OC, am I guaranteed 25% off or potentially a smaller amount?

EDIT: NM, I see what they are doing. Apparently if you take part in the rebate, you get a link to a list of cards with each having a fixed price. This tells me that not all cards will have the 25% discount.

Even with no warranty on my GTX280, I'd prefer it to a PNY with warranty. Just my personal preference ... I don't like the PNY brand is all.

Be nice if someone posted the % off on the cards so we could see what they are offering.

I'm curious as well, because I have a feeling the cards that are moving (ie, the 1 GB GTX 460) aren't going to see that 25% discount and be had for under $175. If I'm wong and you can get one for that price, I have a dead BFG 6800GT to send in. :)

smart marketing move for pny. somebody is going to snap up bfg's market share, may as well be them. I don't see anybody else making any kind of offer at all. Even evga's stepup requires you to get the new card from them.
