for ultra-low cost systems with no PCI-e or AGP slots for video card upgrades (read: DELL $300 pc's) - would an Ageia PhysX card be a viable upgrade for the onboard video?

Don't do it! First of all there's hardly any support for it that's available for purchase. The others are still in the process of being made. And by the time that happens, there will probably be other physics solutions out there tha own Ageia.

This Geforce 6200 is the best you're going to get if you only have PCI, but it's still not going to run games really well, if that's what you're talking about. It probably wouldn't do much better for 3d rendering, either.

the 6200 should work well.... it's more for compatability for games, not so much running them at 80fps :)

Are you planning to run games like Fear and Oblivion?

I have to tell you buddy that PCI graphics is pretty much ancient history. I don't think you'd squeeze anything that can even remotely be considered enjoyable out of those things...

Better of buying an xbox 360... Or making a brand new PCI express system.
