and how many Audi owners (will) do their own repairs?

Raises hand?

Europa parts are nowhere near cheap, you can get all their stuff from genuineaudiparts.com for a ton less (ie belly pan 199 on europaparts, 150 from genuine).

I always check rockauto.com first then check a couple others I have. Only found 1 part to be so much cheaper is was better to go with a smaller site and that was the fuel pump for my SiLs A4 v6.

But always good to have backups as some just don;t have the part so 1 having it is better then none. I think I ordered from 3 sites when I rebuilt the Turbo/Engine in my old Saab.

while we are at this, is it really true that audi needs some fixin' all the time?

Naw, it's all lies

Not in my experience. Just changing out brake pads, windshield wipers, and a tail light bulb this week. Only thing I've had to really pay to have done is some electrical issue with the airbag system. Surprisingly cheap considering there's no way I could fix that, but a brake job costs 2-3x more.

Audi's are not as bad as the people around here make them out to be, especially since none of them actually own one. They're not as reliable as a Lexus or Acura, but that doesn't mean they aren't reliable cars.

I've had my 2002 A6 for almost 5 years and have had 1 repair I couldn't do myself and that was the ABS control unit and the car was still under warranty. The only two other repairs was the turn signal relay and a leaky power steering hose, both I took care of myself.
