Hi, want to replace my old Geforce 1st generation. :)

I only have budget for a FX5200 or similar or may be ATI... but don't know which model is in the same catagory

I can't find FX5200 in non ultra version., because i can only get a non ultra locally. otherwise i need to order online.

This time i may lean forward to the ATI becasue just curious. Haven't touch ATI since ATI rage (8 years).

mostly for games, for UT in the future, for heavy resources needed games i mean.

so which card can i pull the most bucks?

thanks

Yeah, grab a GF4 Ti4200. Probably you'll need to catch a BB rebate, etc.
Else get an ATI 9200 over a 9100.

ti4200 is faster i think, ...
$100 is for 64mb version i think... afterall i may get it locally, cuz i don't want to wait for another week for delivery. and paying all the non sence tax.
For me, the price is about the same when order online.
just want to get something that works. and work the most for the $100

see, now i have a Geforce SDR, any card can gimme a huge jump.

oh, i don't know if i can use these cards any more unless i upgrade my powersupply.

Ok, now i have a 230w to 250w psu.

will this FX5200 and R9100 work under this psu?

what does the box say? I know Radeon 9700 pro needs 300w or it will not boot.

Get a ti4200 for sure, I wouldn't worry about running out of power unless you have numerous drives/fans and such running.

Newegg has them for 105, maybe cheaper somewhere else ($100?).

what if i only want to choose either a fx5200 or radeon 9100?

i know ti4200 is faster, but also older than cost more

right now i just can't decide which to get, heard a friend saying FX5200 is feature wise and better driver updated.

for myself, i heard that ati has a better image quality and better fsaa, i don't know if i will use it in the future.

People, i just can't decide which to get. for now i can't find a head to head comparison chart..

i can't find a non ultra 5200 reviews(cuz i can only get non ultra locally, and of course cheaper). and i don't hear enough people recommending one or the other.

Get the ATI 9100 128mb DDR 8X from Crucial with free 2 day shipping. I think with some coupon floating out there in chubby wallet or here, you can actually get it for around $80. I just bought Gainward GF3 Ti200 128DDR, and am overclocking it past GF4 ti4200 speed. I like it. I got it for $93 shipped from Newegg. I might even buy the Crucial card. I don't need it, but hey, I'm a hardware junkie.

I am looking to upgrade my old 32meg GF2 ultra as well. Will I see much difference with the 4200?

can't someone please verify for me(especially someone with the radeon 9100 retail box).

Does Radeon 9100 need a 300w psu available?

a retail dealer emailed me saying it needs a 300w, but i never trust them.

How far can a 9100 and 5200 be clocked? can a 5200 clocked pass 4200(just curious)
