For anyone with basic TTL knowledge

Can someone give me a truth table for a 7406? Or is it a 7404? I missed a day of class, and my lab partners notes have a 7406 listed, but my book doesn't have one, but uses the same pin configuration for the 7404? Thanks.

7406 & 7404 are both Hex-Inverters. No Truth Table, one pin in, one pin out per gate. They just invert. 7406 is Open-Collector, 7404 isn't.

Google is useful for this...

Here's a link that tells you about lots of TTL chips : http://www.cs.uiowa.edu/~jones/logicsim/man/node5.html

the '06 isn't on there but it should be easy to find on google.

I've gone through that... first you learn all the TTL logic chips... then you learn the CMOS logic chips... then you start seeing programmable logic devices and it's so much better to use a single chip to do more complex stuff 😀
