For Anyone with A Dell 5150 with NEC DVD+R Burner

hey everyone just came accross this yesterday and wanted to spread the wealth. for those of you with a dell 5100 series laptop and also the NEC ND-5100A DVD+R burner you can use this firmware to allow it to read/burn DVD-R it converts the drive to a NEC ND-5500 drive. i have done this and burns have come out great with DVD-R media. the only thing is you must do this in a true dos enviornment. if your laptop has no floppy then you can also you a usb thumb drive.

I had a pack of DVD-R's that I bought, before I knew anything about DVD media types, so now I can actually use them, =)
