For anyone who wants a copy of Freespace 2

Before interplay rolls over and dies they have made Freespace 2 available again through their web store. It is $50 though, and only 2000 copies are going to be available With as bad of trouble as they are in I am totally confused as to why they are putting people through the sillyness.

Anyways it may be worth it to some, FS2 is probably the best space sim/shooter to date. The graphics are a little limited by today's standards (the game is 5 years old) but there hasn't been much to come out in this area since it's release.

The game didn't stay on shelves very long when it was released because of poor sales, but it got excellent reviews everywhere. Boxed copies of the original release had been going for $80+ on Ebay, and I think they are just hoping to get a little quick cash.

There was a pretty substantial modding and online community for FS2, I'm not sure how many people are still working with it though. This page is still being updated.

Space flight sims don't make money without the name "Star Wars" attached somewhere, unfortunately. FS2 was one helluva good game imo. Haven't found a better story in a game or even a movie for that matter since.
