PLEASE GIVE ME AN IDIOT'S GUIDE😱
i know how to move "my documents" but i am struggling how to move the desktops and favourites etc for the 3 users from c: to the new f: drive.
everytime i think i have done it and got it working - when i reboot there are new "docs and settings" back in the c: drive for all 3 users and that is where xp deaults to saving desktops items and IE faves etc etc.

lots of people say they have set up multiple partitions and moved these special folders so i would appreciate learning how to do it properly too!

as far as I know you can't permanantly remove the documents and settings folders themselves as they are needed parts of windows. and unless you're using a domain service w/policy's on-line preventing them access to those folders, I don't know of anyway to prevent them from accessing thier internal folders.

These instructions are based on Windows XP...ah just checked your rig...you have this.

If you have a desktop ikon for My Documents then simply right click on that, then click properties and click the "move" button, you can move the files to another folder and create a new one to store in too.

Or you can find it in explorer and right click and take it from there too. Funny, I have only just got around to moving my "my documents" folder too in an effort to not have to backup anything (off the C drive) before doing clean installs.
