I purchased the Microsoft VIsual Studio .NET Pro and I also have WinXP installed in my computer with the latest patches from Microsoft.

I try to install Visual Studio .NET and it will ask me for a Windows Component Update Disk.

All I have is 6 discs that says Disc1...Disc6 and a J# CD.

I can't find anymore discs in my package. What/Where is it?

THat sucks - there should be a "component disk" that it always asks for before you can install and you should have one :( Hopefully you can get this figured out. If in a couple days you're still scratching your ass over it let me know and I'll send you my component disk. ;)

The 5th or 6th CD should be the component update. I believe it to be the 5th, as the 6th is Visual SourceSafe (if I remember correctly).

Do you have WinXP SP1 installed ? I believe it should have the updates already applied on it. If not, bitch to M$ and get the update CD, or whore it off of someone. :)

HOLY! I FOUND THE COMPONENT DISC! I thought they were.. Disc 1-5.. but the last one was actually the component disc. Stupid mistake. Thanks for the help guys. And yes, I had the WinXP SP1 installed.
