I only thought of this part-way through present-wrapping for my wife , hence I can't really use this movie reference without re-wrapping everything. We both like the movie.
I am becoming increasingly terrible at present-wrapping (she enjoys it and so does most of it, what remains are my presents for her) and a few presents I got her are irregularly-shaped, so they're both a pain to wrap and easy to guess from their shape, so I set about disguising them.
There's a scene (which I can't find on YouTube) out of the film 'Amelie' where the groceries delivery man is delivering shall we say contraband to the old disabled guy. He's disguised each of the items as something mundane, for example a bottle of champagne has been disguised with the cut-off top off a plastic milk bottle, and he reveals each one in turn, turning the old man's initial disappointment of the healthy foods into joy.
So I was trying to come up with ways to disguise some of these items, and one that's about the size of a house key so I ended up taking the miniature manual from a Samsung SSD and put the item into it. As I already have a rep amongst the in-laws for being overwhelmingly interested in tech stuff (for example, I get amicably mocked for asking for magnetic dust filters once). Afterwards I thought it would have been pretty cool if I was able to have disguised all of her presents in tech packaging, to give my wife the initial disappointment of "oh crap, he got me tech presents when I barely switch my computer on any more", followed by the reveal
