hey, it took *some* convincing and a call from his girlfriend before he finally let us do it. luckily, it turned out that his girlfriend hated his long, girl-ish 70's-style hair as much as the rest of us did. hehe.

Community college first 2 years so with my parents.
Junior year, started with a hs friend who moved out, then by myself, and then they forced a roommate in with me.
Second semester I got a job as a resnet technician and moved dorms (moving sucks!) but now I have my own single extra large room because its at the end of the hall, much better and I plan on staying here until I graduate because its free!

freshman year - dorms on campus
sophomore year - with 4 5th year senior party animals (with one being a drug dealer)
junior year - with two high school friends
senior year - damn redneck union racist plumber with the dumbest dog in the world.

would never go back to the dorms after freshman year even though it was the best.

sophomore year- two girls, onr from my fellowship, the other from my floor in the dorms
junior year- first semester: lived with two guys (random friends from my major)
second semester- currently living in a newly made appartment complex with a new roommate.

Freshman year: 9 other randomly assigned guys in the suite
Sophomore year: 2 of the guys from first year and another guy from a different suite
Junior year: A friend from high school who transferred here and 3 girls who responded to our ad
Next year: High school friend and two guys from my first year

Freshman year: Randomly assigned roommate in on-campus dorms.
Sophomore year: Same awesome roommate in same room.
Junior year: On-campus 8-person suite with a friend from the hall I lived in during the first two years (other 6 are also from the hall and/or simply close friends).
Senior year: Will be off campus in a 4-person suite with a friend who lived on the same hall for the first two years and who lives close-by right now (other two are first roomate and a close friend who lived on our hall during freshman year).

In my experience, on-campus housing is great but expensive! Off-campus, university-owned housing is the way to go, if it's available. I get all the perks of on-campus housing (at a distance and w/o a meal plan, of course) for half the price.
