You guys are providing some good points in using it, though I still hesitate to deal with the unforseen side affects.

I have the same problem in a few games like Grand Prix Legends and MAME. I'm guessing it calculates a timing loop based on the slow CPU speed, and then when the CPU speeds up, the framerate speeds up too. It's easy enough to go in the Power control panel and set Always On or something to disable CnQ.

Off Topic: Grand Prix Legends... Ahhh... one of my favorite games (er... simulation).

Yes, that happened to me, too (timing loop thingy). I'll be experimenting with rmclock to see if that might be better...

I had the same problem with a few games, which is why I have it disabled. Madden 06 had some really weird framerate acceleration issues.

As others have mentioned, there are some games that act rather funkily (heh... is that a word?) when CnQ was enabled. A good solution, if a bit annoying at times for the extremely lazy, was to go to Control Panel -> Power Options -> and change power scheme from "Minimal Power Management" to "Always On". Then after playing that particular game (Grand Prix Legends, in my case), I just switch it back to Minimal Power Management.

I don't know if this will work for other games such as Madden 06, but you could try it. And if it works, then at least you can still have CnQ for regular use.

Yep. No need for full power while surfing the web. Might as well save a little juice and heat at the same time.
