Depends how much you play. The most i'd pay for a cue is $50 bucks. I play about once a week. It's about the player, not the cue.

like the person above said, "its about the player, not the cue." A good player will beat whomever with a freaking broom stick :p

If you're good, you're not going to get many bets on games when you're carrying around your own pool stick and everyone else is using the curved sticks normally used at the bar.

Who said anything about hussling? (sp?) Anyway i agree it's about the player I just want to stop using the warped house cues.

down here the cue and the glove are popular...I stopped seeing a chick when she whipped out her glove.

If you are gambling having your own cue may not make a big difference as many do. If you have one made of Unobtainium...then YMMV.

At that price, I would suggest an entry-level Cuetec or Viking...but depending on your ability level, lessons might pay off more than a good cue first. good luck regardless!

I have a couple, and used to play leagues. Most of the places I go to have at least a few decent house cues, good enough for about anything. If the dive has crap cues, the felt and the leveling job will likely suck too.
