Hi all,

Can someone clarify as to when Obiwan officially given the title of a Jedi Master? I was sure he's not till the very end of SW III.

i believe he is when he gets back from episode 1. After his master dies.

He was a knight after his master dies and still was during epidsode II. He was given the title master sometime during the clone wars in between epidsode II and III or so says the Clone Wars cartoon series.

I only noticed it at the very end of SWIII. I understand one need to be a master to be in the council but he's an exception. I thought he was still a General Obiwan till the very end of SWIII.

I think general is a military term and master is a Jedi term. He was a Jedi master *and* a general in the military.

There's probably more to it, but it goes padawan -> knight -> master. When Anakin was put on the council he was a Jedi Knight and was pissed that he wasn't "promoted" to master.

Between EPII and EPIII. When EPIII starts, he's already on the Jedi Council.

This is correct.

He was quite young to be on the Council.

Anakin went from Padawan to Knight between EPII and EPIII as well.

All Jedi Knights and Masters became Generals in the war, automatically.
