Who likes to move? Whether you have to or not it sucks. Landlord selling the joint so you gotta move? Big time sucks. When you are thrilled to be moving to a shiny new place, it still sucks. So what do you think is happening in the Middle East right now? People are getting on rickety boats and rafts to float in a giant fucking sea hoping to hit friendly land. Or walking hundreds of miles with the same hope. That's right. And they are LEAVING ALL THEIR SHIT BEHIND. This is shirt on backs stuff people. We read about the numbers and the strife. 50,000 here, some bombs there, an image here or there interspersed. It's all just static dots on a screen. So I share this video. This video was nominated for a Student Academy Award. It's a mere 20 minutes long but I think worth watching. It really is worth your time. ALL the rescues were filmed on one day. And a nod to the Greeks, who are suffering through their own political and economic crisis, but yet picking up every refugee floating around with a sense of urgency. Perhaps we here with our bans and executive orders could learn a thing or two. And on a note of history, when Europe was embroiled in WW2, where do you think their refugees went? Places like Aleppo, Iran, Gaza and Egypt. Puts things into perspective:

They have often consistently been told of that reality. They often still dont care.

And its troubling I often see this on the left much like the right.

Greece should not be the one to be taking refugees in their current economic circumstances. With how big the US and Australia's rural lands are, I can see we'd have the resources and skills needed to turn wilderness into thriving towns - not only good for the refugees' safety but both the countries' economies in the long run. You just won't be able to get the uneducated to understand... it'll always be the same old scapegoat, "jobs, terrorism and cultural differences," as if that is enough convincing to decline suffering people's pleas for help.

Apparently mostly men flee these moslem countries in search of non-moslem countries (even moslem countries don't want to help them). They leave their women and children behind to fend for themselves. They then take vacations back to those countries they fled. You'll have to forgive me for not shedding a tear over the few that die making the trek for this invasion.

This is straight up lies. He says these bullshit despite the obvious fact that children themselves are dying after drowning in the Mediterranean Sea.

Oh look, it's one of the propaganda parrots stopping by to leave a few droppings.

I find it hard to believe this video is nothing more than propaganda, and they always focus on the women and children. That's what tugs at your heartstrings.

Are there women and children? Sure. Do some of them die so their parents can get freebies in non-moslem countries? Yes. Is the media blowing the crisis out of proportion? Absolutely.

In 2015:

European Refugee Crisis 2015: 50% Of Asylum-Seekers Landing In Europe Are Syrian, UN Report Finds

Of the European host countries, Greece takes on most of the arrivals, with 244,855 so far this year, followed by Italy, receiving 115,000. In total, 75 percent of the refugees are reported to be men, 12 percent women and 13 percent children.

Their latest stats say it's "only" 57% men, however most are economic migrants, not refugees. So yeah, the men are still abandoning their families for freebies.

How many migrants to Europe are refugees?

VIKTOR ORBÁN, Hungary’s prime minister, says the “overwhelming majority” of migrants in Europe are not refugees but are merely seeking a better life. Robert Fico, his Slovak counterpart, says up to 95% are economic migrants.

EDIT: The final report for Italy for the year 2016 (PDF) shows 71% of arrivals were men.

Like in previous years, men continue to represent the vast majority (71%) of sea arrivals, while adult women account for 13% of the total.

Trump: Not our problem that we went in there and created a boom market for our arms dealers and my international oil baron friends. That's the price those people over there have to pay for our liberty and our way of life. We gonna take their oil and make them like it too. And who cares if we create thousands upon thousands of suicide bombers from exploiting their resources. It's America First and what they think is their resources was our resources to begin with, and all we have to do to keep them over there and off our shores is to indiscriminately ban ALL of them, good, bad, ugly, babies and all. So what's the problem again?

But,but,but,but,but,but,but...

Fucking deplorables. She was correct. Fucking deplorables. That who you wanna play with bunky?

You made this a partisan thing first bringing up Clinton and deplorables. I think starving children to death is worse than not accepting able-bodied adults.

Your continued attempt to change the point (along with your ignorance of the refugee situation) is noted. Fucking deplorables are fucking deplorables no matter who said it first.

Methinks we can all judge Trump's performance in office post-term by how evasive, squirmy and awkward the answers from his supporters will be when asked "Why did you vote for him?"

Hey, it might produce that kind of reaction right now, come to think of it. :D
