I'm thinking of doing an essay on the topic of "To what extent should technology be used to prolong a life?" and was wondering whether it is a suitable topic for a essay that has to be limited to 1000 words +- 50 words

Thanks

euthanasia is assisted suicide... not the proloning of human life... and no, the nopic you've outlined is not too broad, you just have to be concientious of your constraints, and organize your thoughts ahead of time...

Are we to assume this is a persuasive essay?

"Euthanasia" is not too broad - provided you take a hard stance for, or against, it. However, "To what extent should technology be used to prolong a life?" is way too broad. Technology? You mean like modern medicine, surgery, artificial breathing and heart machines? All of those can fall under "technology."
