FOP32-1 or Pentalpha cooler? Remove Thermal Pad on FOP32-1?

Hey there,
I've got a Pentalpha cooler and a GLOBALWIN FOP32-1 cooler at home. The Globalwin uses a Thermal pad. When I switched from the Pentalpha to the FOP32-1, the cooling was really really poor. I've put also Thermal Paste on the FOP32-1, plus the thermal pad. Is this ok? Or should I scratch the Thermal pad off, and just use the FOP32-1 with Thermal Paste? If I scratch the Thermal pad off, can I RMA it?

Thermal pad PLUS thermal paste is a no-no. Depends on your supplier as to if they will accept RMA with pad removed. BTW did you remove the thin plastic protective film from the pad ?? (sometimes there are two layers)
