What happens if theres a tie after the spread is factored ?

EX:

Dallas favored by 10 over Washington

Final score: 23 - 13

If you take away 10 points from Dallas, they didn't win

If you add points to Washington, they didn't win ...

Do you win the bet or lose it or just get your money back minus the 10% ?

Usually they put the spread at a 1/2 figure, such as Dallas by 10 1/2 over whomever. That way there can't be a tie.

you lose. the spread is tricky.

you have to win by MORE than 10 points. if you are betting on dallas, you actually have to win by 11 points. if you are washington, 10 points is good enough.

Found the answer ..

"the game is considered "no action" and all money is returned"

The Oakland Raiders are playing the New York Jets.
The Raiders are expected to win the game and the spread is 6. So, you see the Raiders listed as -6 and the Jets listed as +6. You place a bet on the Raiders. If the Raiders win by more than 6 points, you win the bet. If the Raiders only win by 6 points, then the game is considered "no action" and all money is returned. If the Raiders win by less than 6 points, you lose the bet

hmm. thats news to me. of course, it all depends on where you are placing your bets, whether it be a service or via an oral agreement. every place has their own rules.
