what's the difference between encroachment and offsides? i always thought it was the same, but didn't get why the play is automatically blown dead for encroachment (as opposed to offsides, where the offense pretty much gets a free play).

encroachment you touch a guy on the offense.

I hate how in NFL 2K5 they made it so that if you go offsides too far it just becomes encroachment... I used to love blocking the sh!t out of PAT attempts or just sacking the sh!t out of the QB for no reason. Now you can't do that.
