Foot Injury -- Cortizone Shots?

A friend of mine injured her foot and shattered a bone.
The doctor has told her that her best option is to get Cortizone shots, but she's heard bad things about people's experiences with them.

Anybody here have any experience with foot injuries or Cortizone shots?

My wife had one IN HER CHEST and said it didn't hurt. But.... the doctor told her that he has had grown men pass out on the table when seeing the very long needle. So, who knows.
 
i've had these shots shot into my KEYLORD scar

like it's a 12 CM scar and the doctor shot me with them needles like twice a month for one whole year, even tho it hurt
it did do the trick
it did make the scar smaller in size
