I'll start with two:

Black coffee <- any additives usually make it taste really good
Red wine

gasoline

It smells good to you? You're blessed.

I work at a banquet facility and they occasionally have big indian weddings, complete with indian cuisine buffet. The food they bring out smells absolutely nasty. The only thing that was good ever was beef in some kind of sauce, and it didn't even smell good. It was just good because you could still taste the beef and the sauce wasn't too offensive.

Pro tip: That wasn't beef.

The liquid or the grounds?

For me... Both! I can't stand the taste of coffee but I've been known to pour a little into a mug and take it with me on my way to work or school... then dump it out. I guess it reminds me of vacation when I was little... my dad always got a coffee at our first stop and it made the car smell really good. I think it tastes like mud, though.

Some are just the opposite - I had this dish once made with gorgonzolla cheese. It smelled absolutely like sweaty armpit. And strong also - people at other tables could smell it and were wondering what the stench was. But if you could get it past your nose, it was really pretty good!

I don't think the grounds are supposed to taste good, so I guess both. I basically grew up in a 7-Eleven, I worked there for years, and I LOVE the smell of coffee. I've tried several times to drink it - various brands from various places, but I just can't learn to like it.

Beer tastes awesome
Red Wine tastes good
Black Coffee tastes awesome
Indian Food tastes awesome (some of it smells pretty bad though)

I'm thinking I'll probably agree with Gasoline though. I rather like the scent, but if you ever have to siphon gas, you're gonna realize it tastes HORRIBLE.

Perhaps Gasoline is just an acquired taste though :)

I didn't realize gasoline was EDIBLE. Reading comprehension FTW!

Fried calamari is AMAZING. You don't really get the calamari taste but you get the sort-of-squishy texture, combined with the fry. Excellent.

GideonX: stinky = smell?

Many of us would say the squishy texture is the biggest turnoff ...
I eat Calamari if it's fried or not ... not because I really like it, more so just because it's something to eat.
