Mine is constructed of 100% U.S. grade A wife. A little high on the maintenance end though.
 
I would think your best bet would be to find a tube system salvaged froma bank. I am pretty sure these are only point to point though, it might be tricky to adapt one to have multiple stops (think servos, and air-tight plates). It would probably be a better starting point than trying to build one from scratch though.
 
Overhead tracks with motorized hanging hooks.

Or a robot, just be sure you have Old Glory Robot Insurance to protect Grandma's pills in case it isn't a friendly robot.

It will move by an air pipe under it which can be controlled. so you can change the pressure/speed. and you can put just like a box thats fit in the space with stuff in it. And For sttops. there will be a little thing you pull down.
