Food Delivery

1) I just got japanese food delivered, it came out to $10.04.

2) I hand the guy a 20, he hands me $4 back and quickly turns to leave

3) I stop the guy, tell him I gave him a $20, and he says what, and finally gives me correct change back.

4) He receives a $1 tip for that

Why are delivery people in NYC such losers?

What a loser. Biggest tip he deserves is $2, $2.50 max (before he did that act of only giving back $4 change)

Good stuff, my roomate had a similar act pulled on him except the delivery driver was even worse and started negotiating with him and finally just randomly left with the money.

My roomate: Make it $7 hands the guy a $10 (order was like $5.50 or so)
DG: I'll make it $8
Roomate: $7
DG: Alright $8 it is (hands $2 back) and leaves

Where's Nik ?

I work delivery. I've never done anything like that, and ive been doin this for 1.5 yrs now. The drivers that are so focuse on tips, are just the ones new to the game, and will later understand, that you get your outrageously low, and sometimes no tip, your avg 8-10% tip, and your extremely high tip. So for every 3 delivereies your guaranteed 1 decent tip. Also, when people need change, i give them back the entire ammount of the change, and then wait for them to hand me singles.

I would have tackled the bastard and took my dollar back.

you think that... in his mind, he was helping himself to a $6.00?
or do you think that... in his mind he did not expect anything, and just gave you the wrong change?
