We Win -- FDA Must Classify Mercury Fillings !

And this also occurs at a time when I need more ceramic fillings that fell out recently replaced. The ceramic fillings don't stay put like the deadly mercury ones do. And if you have big teeth like I do, you also got BIG mercury fillings in those teeth, compared to some people with smaller teeth and mercury fillings. The sad part is most dental insurance also refuses to cover ceramic fillings forcing many to get toxic mercury or pay it out of pocket for ceramic, like I had to.

Deadly? Toxic? What are you smoking?

There isn't enough mercury in an amalgam filling, or enough that leaches out, to have any effect on a human.

More junk science trying to rule our lives.

Good grief

It seems that occasionally when I post topics or replies that the forums fail to reload properly after I post and then boot me out. What's odd is the forums will still show me logged in sometimes for HOURS if I access it on another PC. But the PC I am booted out on, will not even display or access the forums until the internet gremlins finally randomly decide to drop me off the active forum users list. And even when that happens, I may still have to wait a while to get back in. I can trace this to one faulty IP hop someplace near D.C. when this occurs. This laptop don't have the trace info on it, or I might post it in the tech area for trouble shooting. What this means is, if I have a posting/logout problem enjoy the typing errors until I can log back in sometimes hours later and fix them.

Dental Amalgam: Filling a Need or Foiling Health?

It's not junk science at all. People have been permanently poisoned and sickened from these toxic fillings. The fillings can even be tested for mercury and other toxic metals after removal. The ratio of the mercury used in the fillings and the other toxic ingredients varies greatly. I have had fillings in my head that are in the entire top of the tooth crowns in ALL my large back molars before I was even 13. Some are shiny silver, others are dull and tarnished looking. And most were probably unneeded but one shyster dentist in particular simply made a fortune off my naive parents and dental insurance when I was a teenager. He even placed a fortune in crowns on most of my sisters baby teeth! I always had good dental hygiene and brushed regularly and my teeth are straight and not stained or crooked. And I also have multiple dental horror stories from various unskilled dentists that would need their own threads to completely cover. I have suffered many unrepairable tooth injuries as a result. But many shyster dentists have no qualms at all about filling a males head full of mercury and toxic metals just to make an extra buck off it. And as far as my genes go, my grandmother with straight teeth never even had a cavity until she was 65.

Hehe, I'll never tell. ;)

When I had my wisdom teeth removed, the dental surgeon told me they were about the largest ones he had ever seen. He had a lot of trouble removing them because even the roots were twice as long as normal. And he let me keep them. I thought about making them into a necklace or something. Too bad I cant have them reimplanted one day should I need them.

Why did you link to this?

"The toxicity of high-dose mercury levels in industrial settings has
been established. Although mercury vapor can be absorbed through
breathing and eating, research has not shown that low levels of
mercury-containing amalgam are harmful except in rare cases of
mercury allergies.

In a literature review of amalgam research, the U.S. Public Health
Service found no sound scientific evidence linking amalgam to
multiple sclerosis, arthritis, mental disorders, or other diseases, as
has been suggested by some critics of amalgam.

The subcommittee could not conclude with certainty that mercury
in amalgam fillings poses a health threat or that removing them is
beneficial.

Railing on about "shyster dentists" does not exactly build faith in your claims.

I linked to it because it described what the amalgam fillings were variously made from, and it was from the FDA site, which is likely going to be removing or modifying this paper from their archives soon, now that this lawsuit is finally over, that's why. It says right at the top of the page:

This article was published in FDA Consumer magazine several years ago. It is no longer being maintained and may contain information that is out of date. You may find more current information on this topic in more recent issues of FDA Consumer or elsewhere on the FDA Website, by checking the site index or home page, or by searching the site.

Obviously the information concerning the safety issue of mercury is now a moot point, if they lost in court over it. The fact it had to be taken to court to get them to admit the toxic nature of mercury in minute doses should give everyone reason to reflect on this decades long foot dragging on the FDAs part. :light:

Now go drink your fluoride and get dark fluorosis stains on your teeth for healthy teeth and be mentally passive like a good little sheep, ok? Even the Germans during the war found out they can use it for subtle mind control purposes.

Fluoride Action Network

And as far as my comments railing on about shyster dentists not building any faith in my claims, why do you think it took the F.D.A. so long to reverse its erroneous findings? Can you say A.D.A.? I thought you could! :p

How is that "obvious"?

They settled out of court.

Please cite some decades-old research demonstrating conclusively that the mercury in amalgam fillings poses a health risk.

Or perhaps we are meant ot reflect on this decades-long foot-dragging by noting that it does not exist.

Calling people "sheep" has about the same effect as ranting about "shyster dentists".

Yes, let's see if we can't draw some conspiracy theories into this.

They settled out of court.

Yea, umm, ok Pointdexter. I guess you need to sue the people who sued them for using the incorrect term when they stated they WON, not me. The fact remains they got the verdict they were looking for. They did not LOSE. Unlike yourself.

Yea, I'm sure the F.D. A. lost the case on this lack of factual evidence mercury amalgams are TOXIC, of course. Makes perfect sense.

Sticks and stones can break my bones but fluorosis can make them even more brittle.

I don't like mercury fillings just because they are unattractive. I've only had one filling, a ceramic filling, and it has been fine for years now.

I'm not sure why you would put your replies in bold when it is well-established that CAPS LOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL.

Next time you want to argue word usage with me, try using that dictionary shoved against your ass for more than just a chair booster so you can reach the keys on your parents PC.
Merriam-Webster.com Definition 2 : opinion, judgment
I was not implying a literal legal definition of the word VERDICT Captain Oblivious.

The F.D.A. SETTLED the case because the F.D.A. were in the wrong, and they knew it. They also wanted to AVOID a summary OPINION, JUDGMENT or VERDICT of GUILT against them on top of that FACT. The group suing them WOULD NOT have settled UNLESS they were getting what they WANTED in the FIRST place. The F.D.A. was SUED based on prior LAWS and REGULATIONS. VIOLATING their own REGULATIONS resulting in a GUILTY OPINION, JUDGMENT or VERDICT against them was NOT an option for them, and they KNEW that.

Go gold

Or you can do like this guy and never have to worry about fillings again.

Man, this thread delivers.
What's the big deal about the FDA researching something? They'll just publicize how safe they are. And then we'll get to have another thread about how the FDA is easily bought by big Mercury. :)
