Foobar problem with kernal streaming

Basically I followed exactly what this guide said to set it up:

Whenever a program in the background makes a noise the sound cuts off completely. The song is still playing but foobar doesnt output any sound.

I'm using the latest drivers from VIA 451a.

How can I fix this?

I don't know, but have you tried the foobar forums? That's probably a better place to get answers about this problem.

I set up the exact thing a while ago and I think I recall reading that this is a known bug. Just turn all the backgroud sounds off in Control Panel.

I believe this is just a limitation of kernel streaming. I have the exact same setup and I just use foobar exclusively with the AV-710. I use my onboard Realtek for Windows sounds and games.
