I just went to the foobar2000.org website and it's really pissing me off.. There is only ONE download version of foobar and when you install it, you get this worthless POS version of foobar, it litterally has no features. All the features I've gotten used to in the older versions are missing, I can't find a selection for columns UI and there is nowhere on his site to allow me to download the older versions.. The components page is practically empty now, WTF IS GOING ON!?!?!?!!?!? Did he restart or some sh1t?

Foobar USED to have TONS of features with none of the cost of hogging ram, programs like winamp and real player or itunes use lots of resources just to play muisc, they also lack features.

What does 0.8.3 do that .9 doesn't? Just switched to foobar, it's AWESOME and a great non-resource hog but would like a bit more functionality. Seems the plugins, etc are pretty nice but I just haven't had the time to read through the FAQs and docs to find the ones I need. Recommendations?

BTW 0.8.3 can be had online through mirrors (google foobar 0.8.3) I just don't know why I'd want to download it...?

and yeah, to mirror your complaints, i installed 0.9.1 a week ago and everything was all retarded. for one thing, you can't upgrade over 0.8.3 so you lose all your settings. second, you have to manually install things like APE support and kernel streaming. third, i can't find the original resampler, and the PPHS one supposedly isn't as good and makes my clock go all fast. fourth, the context menu when you right click on the main playlist area is all changed for no good reason and i had to hunt down things like masstagging and moving, and even those screens are all changed. and now when you play WMAs it doesn't tell you what mode they were recorded in.

foobar2000 0.9.1 FTL.

FUBAR is an acronym and a movie. this is foobar2000, formerly the best audio player available.

OK, someone answer me this... and this is not me trying to bash on any one player or another...

Is there a player that has the following:
Drag and Drop Smart Playlists like in iTunes (You grab all the music from an artist, drop it in the playlist area and it is labelled for you "artist name")
I can switch from library to another playlist instantly with next to no delay while it loads my music (itunes)
Search as I type for stuff (itunes)
detect duplicate songs (itunes)
Remembers everything (I swtich from one playlist to another, and it has the scroll bar where i left it. If I play one video and then jump to another, when I go back to the first one it is where I left it... even after a restart)(itunes)
Very easy media info lookup and album art grabber (media player 10)
global hotkeys (winamp)
skinabilty (winamp and Media Player 10)
interfaces with ipod (itunes by default, winamp with plugin)
drag and drop into library and copies into music directory (itunes definitely, not too sure about the others)
sync with my pocket pc (media player 10)

So, if someone can provide me with a media player that can do all of that, I will be a happy camper.. however until then, I will continue to use itunes
