Foo Fighters....your thoughts?

Hey all,

I have always considered myself a "fringe fan" of Foo Fighters. That is to say, I'm not keeping up with them, but I enjoy most of their songs that get a lot of play. Also, it means I don't hear many of the tracks on their CDs that aren't in the mainstream.

Well, the other night, while I was working, a video came on that could possibly turn me into a Foo-following die-hard. The song is "Walking After You." I don't know what album it's from, and I haven't heard any of the other songs from it, but if they are anything like this one, I'm buying the CD. So, how about it? Have you heard the whole album? What are your thoughts?

Thx,

Ricky

DD, Walking After You is on their second album called The Colour and the Shape. I like that album a lot actually. Has a lot of good songs on it. Monkey Wrench, Up In Arms, My Hero, Everlong, Feb. Stars and of course Walking After You. I think you'll like the album, you should go for it!

Hmmmm...

You know what? That's weird, because, come to think of it, I HAVE that CD. It actually technically belongs to my Fiancee, but she never listens to music, and we live together. --All this adds up and = I OWN IT.

Weird I never noticed that song before. I'm gonna go listen to it.

I do believe I had a hand in that cd...;) The colour and the shape is their best record but I like the new one too. If you've watched Ed on Sunday night( NBC, the bowling alley lawyer show ) the theme song is from the new album ( the title of which slips my mind ). Anyhoo.....:D

T- minus 17 days.......

Funny, I was wishing they would go away just the other day. If I have to hear that "Looking to the Sky" song again I am going to hurl.

I like FF. They have a good track record for kicking out singles. They'd prolly be able to do a "Greatest Hits" disc after their next album.

When we did our CD, I used "The Colour and The Shape" as a reference for the production. It doesn't sound the same, but has a similar poppy-punky vibe with lots of guitars roaring. Check out the links in my sig.

Yeah, that's it. The one with the airplane video. I guess it's the video that makes me dislike the song so much. It's such a dumb video.

That's a great video. What band makes better videos than the Foo Fighters? Limp Bizkit or any other sh*tty band in the mainstream. Ha! Dave Grohl rules! Check them out if they come near you. They put on a pretty good show. I saw them several years ago after they released their second album. Dave and Taylor opened up, each behind a drum kit. I never thought I'd see Dave drum again. It was awesome.

Their music isn't horrible, but very weak sounding. Like the singer just woke up and doesn't feel like doing his job that day.

I enjoyed most of their videos. The Mentos parody was really funny, plus it was only 2:10 which is a plus in my book. "Learn to Fly" is lame IMHO.

Who makes better videos? Nobody I suppose. Videos pretty much suck. They exist to sell image over music. Since videos came into play music quality has taken a total nosedive.

That's not to say that there are no good videos out there. I have seen a few. Unfortunately the good to suck ratio is about 1:10000.

I saw the Foo Fighters LIVE last Friday, and they rock as much as ever. They have a LOT of good stuff, but my favorite is the original Foo.
