Anyone else listening to this lately? Picked it up on the weekend...

I hadn't heard anything except The Pretender on the radio, which I like.

The album is a mix of acoustic / mellow stuff and regular Foo Fighters ass-kicking.

Looks like it will be another one of those albums I can listen to from beginning to end.

I actually didn't care for it all that much. The Pretender is good but I like most of their older stuff like Everlong, Hero, Breakout, and Monkey Wrench.

You know, one of the songs I love is Hey, Johnny Park!

I forget which album it is on but I've never heard it on the radio.

:music: come and I'll take you under

everything fades in time, it's true.. :music:

such a great jam.

I like the mellow tracks on this album... Statues is really growing on me.

Its a great CD. It still isn't as good as Colour and the Shape, but its a close 2nd.

Give the slower songs a chance, you'll learn to enjoy them. Long road to ruin is the "Learn to fly" of the album. It's uplifting and upbeat, a good tune. The album is great from top to bottom. In order from fav to least fav.

1. Long Road to Ruin
2. Stranger Things Have Happened
3. But Honestly
4. The Pretender
5. Home
6. Cheer Up Boys
7. Statues
9. Come Alive
9. Let it Die
10. Erase Replace
11. Summer's End
12. Ballad of the Beckonsfield Miners

I give the album a solid 8/10. The Foos are my favorite band, I'm going to see them in Oberhausen on the 28th!!!

Thats from The Colour and the Shape (1997), it's number 3.

Cheers!!

Also good songs from that album are February Stars, See you, Wind up, and Walking After You.

theres some good stuff, but there isn't any flow. its all over the place (and not in a good way) musically. I like the mellow songs the best.

Colour and Shape... great album. This one is okay. But I listening to the Skin & Bones live album is amazing. I love their acoustic stuff.

Exactly.. this sounds like a Bsides collection from In Your Honor to me.

The repeated power chord 8th notes need to also cease.

The only song I really care for on this album is Come Alive

Love the album, and the concert ROCKED.

Debating whether or not I should see them for the 3rd time.

Saw their acoustic set which later turned into a dvd, and their show @la invasion. They're coming around again in March....

I DO want to see Serj however...

I have yet to find a FF cd that I can listen to beginning to end.

they churn out good singles like a mother fucker though.

A like a good portion of the music on it. Home is probably my favorite song on the CD. I will be seeing them live at the end of this month...can't wait.

I think it's great. The slower tunes are the ones I really really like though.

Stranger things have happened, Let it Die, and Come Alive are the only songs I listen to regularly from that album.

Honorable mention goes to The Pretender, Summer's End, and Statues. Overall a very listenable album from start to finish.

They're certainly enthusiastic.

Pretender. I love any video that has the band smiting people with nothing but the power of their rock... and that is one of the many reasons I love Judas Priest. They're fuckin robbing a bank using nothing but guitar riffs. Gangsta.
