Fonts jumbled up : Possible hack?

Yesterday i downgrade my server by taking out 256mb and a 120gb HD.

Today, i booted it up and all my fonts are in Myriad format (ie: _+X--_@). EVERTHING FROM WINDOWS TITLE TO ICON NAME IS INDISCERNABLE. I went in to the font folder on the system drive and all the fonts were gone expect for tohama, system and fixed.

Have i been I hacked, although i have a Macfee firewall and viruscan.

How do i reinstate the default fonts or will i have to reinstall?

I did upgrade to SP2 last week, could this be the problem?
 
i've seen that happen twice myself, once on a win2k, and once on winxp, you can try running sfc /scannow from the command windows (start -> run -> cmd) or try system restore back to before you first noticed it. Unfortunalty the only way I was able to fix it was a re-install.

i was able to restore the fonts but now when i try to change my dislpay appearence i only have 4 fonts to choose from.

I did a vscan and found several worms.

I did copy fonts from another networked computer but i can not utilize them. Do i ned to register or associate them with some app or the os.
