I'd get rid of some of your transitions. I want to be able to click around your website with maximum velocity and the transitions feel like they get in the way.

I don't like this. Being the sole image, it looks out of place and unbalanced.

That is interesting, and does not depend on a 3rd party, so they can be hosted on the same server as the web page.

You'll want to be careful with font embedding. A pretty large number of fonts aren't licensed for web use OOB. You probably won't get any attention on a low-volume site, but I still wouldn't recommend it.

Don't use fonts on your website that most people won't already have installed on their computer. If you must used a unique font, do it in in an image (jpg, gif, etc).

This is kind of a tacky solution IMO, but the user will be downloading a file whether it's a JPG or a TTF, so I guess on that front it doesn't *really* matter. That being said, if you care at all about SEO and content organization, it's a terrible idea.

I could talk ad nauseum about accessibility and best practices (based on my professional experience) but I won't bore everyone. My advice to the OP would be to NOT use images as a workaround for displaying custom fonts.

There's a lot of crap on Google fonts, but there are a couple of gems (Open Sans, Montserrat, etc.). Recently I've been in to Fira, the libre font Mozilla created for Firefox OS. I use the monospaced variant for coding.

Funny enough, even though I have access to lots of paid fonts, my tendency is to use libre fonts in my work.
