Font tag does not affect quote parsing.

In a post? That would be using the "Sizes" drop down menu when you're composing the message.

For that I use the cute little magnifying glass zoom feature at the bottom right of the screen, but I don't know if you're lucky enough to have one of those.

Hold down the control key while scrolling the mouse wheel. Works in FF and IE, not sure about Chrome or Opera.
