Font Panel Audio - Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe

I need some help connecting the cables to my Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe motherboard. The cables in the case are all separated and don't match up to the pin out in the manual.

The pin labels for the case are...
Return L, Return R, SpkOut L, SpkOut R, MIC-BIAS, MIC-IN, GND

The pin out for the AC '97-compliant header is..
AGND, NC, NC, NC, MIC2_L, MICPWR, Line Out_R, NC, Line Out_L

Either have to re-orient the pins in the plug or if it wont work period then have to get the correct plug and splice the plug in...? What case do you have...?

I am not sure who manufactured the case. It was given to me. The individual wires for the front audio cable are separate. So I don't have to worry about re-orienting the pins. Just need to know which wire goes to which pin. None of the labels between the wires and the pin out for the header match.

On the Asus board, when wired for Legacy '97, the five paired-wire pin pattern proceeding from one end of the socket towards the other end...

Mic_2 goes with Mic-In (red?) pin.
Agnd goes with Gnd (black) pin.

MicPwr is next behind the red wire for the MicBias (sometimes labeled Micvcc), with no pin to its adjacent position.

LineOut_R is the third position, with the SpkOut_R wire. Adjacent to this position would be the Return_R.

The fourth position does not have any wires.

The fifth pair is LineOut_L, with the SpkOut_L wire. Return_L being the adjacent position.

You list NC for the two positions I indicated for the returns from the headphones. My headphones do not work without this grounding connection.

Hope this works on your board. The HD Front Panels system are wired slightly different. The above is only specific to the Legacy '97 front panel.
