font does not print

For some reason a certain font (Garamond) on my system does not print on any of our office printers .... WHY??

Anyone know how ot fix this?

Ok... is the printer running off a printserver, an actual server/PC or directly from your PC? If it's on another PC or server, that PC processes the printjob and if it does'nt have that font installed, it gets confused and either adds the weird boxes or uses the default, Arial. If it's directly from your PC, I have no idea. If it's thru a printserver, the printserver may not be recognizing the font.

I am running Win XP.
The printers are a Canon 3170 and a Canon IR 2010F.

They are network printers and I have them connected via a TCP/IP port.

did not find any driver with that name on the website ...

What does a postscript driver do differently?
Will everything print normally?
How does it affect speed?

postscript renders the print job as a single image. PCL sends commands to the printer. Printing sometimes takes longer to process, but is generally more reliable for wysiwyg printing IMHO

what is the difference in the computers who can versus thosw who cant. Driver version? OS? Driver Type (PCL5, PCL6, PS, Raw, LPR)

I tried the postscript driver and it doesn't work ... at all.

A 13 page publisher file becomes 20+MB in the printing queu ... and then simply fails.

got a new color laser at the office and installed the postscript drivers for it ... works perfect.
Now why doesn't it work for any of the other printers?

PS: The printers NOT working are: Canon 3170 and Canon IR 2010F. The new printer is a Lexmark c510n
