in the neighborhood for a new case, which do you guys reccommend? i'm really narrowing down between these 2, however i'm also considering an Antec SX1030. working with them before, i'm familiar with all but the fong kai case. i'm looking mainly for quietness and style here. i plan on getting a 250w PSU and swapping my 300w Antec PSU w/ whatever case i get as well, so the prices are in the same range between the tornado and fong kai i believe (for the 250w stock PSU).
the limitations on the fong kai case don't really draw anything from me. it's roomy which is what i want, and it looks nice. i don't plan to expand much more then what it offers, 3 bays for my burner, dvd, and baybus. 3 internal 3.5" bays give me more then i need for hard drive, i'm using a single 40gb 75GXP, and _may_ RAID on another 45gb 75GXP. last space will give me an extra slot in case i need another. i'm just worried because it may look a little childish, i'd rather have one that looks MEAN or professional, not childish HP/Compaq crap.
the tornado is leading by a little i think, it looks decent (nothing extravagent unfortunately, like the fong kai or tornado) and has everything modded already. i plan to add a baybus to quiet the noise from the fans, and this case has gotten nothing but good reviews.
the sx1030 i'm very familiar with, used it a lot at work. it's a lot larger then i'd like- a mid tower 19", not a full tower. it's gonna be heavy as hell and hard to drag around, but it looks awesome. plenty of cooling and space, i don't need the expandability though which is why i'm even considering an sx830. i like the sx1030 a lot better though, with little modding it just looks MEAN and shows nothing but power- even without modding. but i'm thinking it's the loudest case as well, doh.
i don't think cooling's as big a problem, i plan on running mostly stock (possibly pushing the tbird chip a little farther, nothing more). the fong kai's really only hinderance i think would be the cheesy-ish impression it may give off. speaking of which, does anyone know how to get alternate color faceplates? i'd rather have a transcluelent dark blue or even the teal color in the anandtech review then just plain white i believe.
