A follow up to this thread.
Well, I went to work today, and they explained what they did to fix it. Apparently they had an extra "supply" of cash they use. This is just cash they gather when the register is over and such. They use this cash to buy us pizza for dinner, or to buy small supplies needed right away. They just used this cash to cover what happened last night. Apparently its no biggy, and I shouldn't be worried. Though, this is the first time they had to use it to cover a short register
.
Anyway... tonight, we were down by $13! At the end of the night, we sell bags of unsold pretzels for $5, we sold 1 bag, so with that money, the offical register count was short almost $8. I have no idea why. Anyway, I went honestly this time, and I didn't try and cover anything up. I don't work tomorrow, but I'll call anyway to try and settle things if they have any questions. This is awfully strange I am short every time. I really hope they don't think I am stealing.
I think whats going on is, we kinda have this "new" guy. We hired him sometime last year, but with some problems, he couldn't work with us any longer. Now hes back. He's a good guy, and I trust him. But I do not think hes as experienced on the register as the rest of us, and I believe he is ringing extra items up, and he isn't sure how to get rid of it, so he just "cashes it in". Basically, hes not sure how to get rid of stuff hes put in, so it just says its paid for, when it really wasn't.
Oh well...
