I'd rather have a more durable live axel of the Ford Superduty myself, and the Torqshift to boot.

The knuckles on these big 4x4's go bad with all the power of these new diesels, and Dodge worse then GM. The Fords with the D 60 don't even give it a thought.

The 3500 uses a D60 front and D80 rear. The only major difference is kingpins versus balljoints. Chevy is the only one who uses kingpins right now, Ford and DCX have switched to balljoints.
