Does the kid's "treatment" work, or does he become even more powerful?

Seems they left that up in the air. It appeared to work but, with the music playing and your imagination going you tend to think, "well, something's going to happen!"

It reminded me a lot of It's A Good Life, which was used as one of the segments of Twilight Zone: The Move

my impression was that the kid would get even more powerful since he'd be able to create more realistic illusions.
