Follow the rules eBay bidders!

[RANT]If I say PayPal only, I mean PayPal only! Not "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't notice your PayPal only sign, but I'm a good bidder and I'll pay you fast with money order, I promise." This has happened to me on almost every auction I'm running lately. Sheesh![RANT]

I used to, but I don't want to bother anymore. People tend to put off payment as long as possible. Also, you can still stop a money order or bank check.

Same for the other way around. When I say I don't take paypal, don't say "can only pay u w/ papyal rt now" when you win. :|

you can also weed out non-paying bidders quicker if you only take paypal. if you don't get paypal within say 3 days after an auction, he's probably a NPB, but by money order, you might not find out for 10 days or so.

Simple, tell the buyer they can send you a money order, but it 1) has to be there within 30 days, and 2) Once you receive it there will be a 2 week waiting period while the money order or check clears. Tell them they'd have it much quicker if they signed up for a paypal account.

well, it seems like not taking them is causing more problems than taking them.

money orders= safe way to make payments for hundreds of years.

paypal= risky

I love it when I get e-mails from people asking me to ship outside the US. At least they ask before bidding though. I've had several people win and ask to pay by personal check. I only accept PayPal and money orders, so I tell them to go to the post office and buy a money order, or open a PayPal account. If they insist on paying by personal check, I tell them that I will wait 3 weeks to ship, which really seems to make them upset.

Blah... anymore eBay really isn't worth the time and trouble.

Paypal isn't any more risky than a money order. As I stated earlier, you can cancel either a Money Order or a Bank/Cashier's check.

someday the guy who runs paypal will fill his trunk and drive to mexico and you will all be sorry.

Well eBay has this new thing where if you DO NOT pay via Paypal (option) right after the auction ends the auction still continues. So the first person to end it and pay gets the item. I love this feature.

Not a bad idea as long as there's sufficient (acceptable) time to pay it. I mean, why bid if you don't already have the money ready ?

When you say no Paypal, do you have it in big black bold letters on auction page, most ebay bidders dont pay attention to minor wordings unless you stated it big and bold letters.

If you re-read his post he clearly states that he accepts PAYPAL ONLY. Nothing else.

Well I can see where the big black letters saying NO PAYPAL would have been confusing if that's the case.
