Well, I'm back:) Our team scored 42,824 points today for a total of 18,675,245. Our production has reverted back to Around 40K+ a day. Everyone who is interested should support Insidious over at the official F@H forums as he tries to persuade the powers that be to throw us AMD users a freakin' bone:D Hopefully no-one decides to leave this TeAm over the issue:(

If I have missed anything or if you have any comments or suggestions, let me know.

Useful getting started info can be found here: ProviaFan's FAQ and MDE's Start-up Guide Join TeAm AT F@H, We could use your help :)

New users will not appear until they have submitted a work unit under team #198

Milestones are as follows: 1,000, 5,000, 10,000, from 10,000 to 100,000 will be every 10k, and every 20K after 100,000. After 200,000 milestones will be given at 50k intervals

Ok, according to one of the links i followed in Ivoshiee's reply to Sid, it said when the new version comes out with advanced CPUID detection they will add QMD's to AMD. That's fine, how long will it take?

No surprises in the responses to the QMD points thread at F@H. As with most of these DC project "home" forums... posting anything besides "Gee whilikars yur smart" isn't terribly welcome.

One guy in particular just wants a war saying stuff like "so what makes you better than a MAC user?". A couple of the others were more civil and that was cool.

edit:

PS I decided that it would be a shame to exit F@H over something like this. What the heck, I've always been slow anyway.......... :D

Maybe by the time I can afford to change my computers over to A64, they will be able to join in and play.

Until then............. go around.... I'm peddling as fast as I can

People have had to shut down their second instance of F@H just so it's stable when they're crunching a QMD? Mine runs fine with both instances, i just have a lower PPD.

Cool!

(I don't have P4s... all the information I've been posting has come second hand from posts I read (skimmed) in the F@H forum sorry if I had it wrong)

I don't think that was from you. I think I read that in one of the F@H forum threads. I also read an interesting quote from Pande. It said something to the effect that they don't like hyperthreading because it slows down their research.

Minion: Dr. Pande, what can we do about these people that are using hyperthreading and slowing down our research?!?!
Pande: I don't know minion, how about we make a work unit that takes up so much of their resources they can only run 1 instance. And for those few who have a system that is still capable of running two instances, they will lose point in their precious scoring charts.
Minion: Excellent Sir, what shall we call these new work units?
Pande: Minion, we shall call them the QMD and because only the P4s are capable of Hyperthreading, those are the only systems that will receive these work units.

LOL at JeffCos :D

Also, the first versions of QMD core had problems with running two at the same time. The current version does not have this problem.
