Folding @ Home Screws with me

So I have a dual core setup. I don't believe in "charity" - i.e. throwing money at problems are are not solved by money, like the american cancer society, etc.

So, I run UD Cancer research - LigantFit. Have for over 2 years now. Got a million points etc.

Anyway, with the dual core I added Folding @ home to run on the 2nd one. But it fcuks with EVERYTHING. Photoshop is messy. Can't run BF2 with it on, and it basically makes my system unstable.

Does anyone have a solution to this? Is there a way to run 2 instances of UD cancer research? My aunt (in law) died of breast cancer at age 29 so cancer is more of an issue than folding at home for me personally.

Properly configured (at default settings), F@H will never cause what you're experiencing. If we had a few more details, it might be possible to do some troubleshooting. For one, F@H can be very sensitive to overclocked setups are teetering on the edge where they seem stable in everyday use but really aren't. However, since you really seem to be rather PO about this, any advice I could give would probably not be taken anyway. Have a good day, and good luck with getting UD to do what you want.
 
I've also not experienced any performance drops with FAH.

I hope you find the solution and get seriously into the game. We need you!!

I am suspecting that you are running the GUI. It is know to cause problems with *some* video drivers.

Would you consider trying the console client? No graphics involved so you should not have problems like you are having. The F@H TeAm (198) could really use your help 🙂

Some of F@Hs WUs are directed at cancer research too.

Sorry to hear about your aunt 🙁 that is TOO young!

And congratulations on One Million Point Milestone in UD. I have ~300,000, but recently stopped to concentrate more power to F@H.
